Caprese Baguette Toasts

Entertaining made easy with these quick and delicious Caprese Baguette Toasts. For more flavor and flair, add pesto to each slice! 

Serves 8 – 12

Ingredients:

  • 1 Essential Baking baguette
  • 1 lb fresh mozzarella, cut into 30 pieces
  • 1-pint cherry tomatoes, halved
  • ¼ cup balsamic glaze
  • ½ cup fresh basil leaves, chopped
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • Sea salt flakes to taste

Instructions:

  1. Slice the baguette:
    • Use a serrated bread knife to cut the baguette into 30 slices, ¼ inch thick.
  2. Prepare the crostini:
    • Lightly brush each slice with olive oil and sprinkle with kosher salt.
  3. Assemble the crostini:
    • Add a slice of mozzarella to each crostini toast. Add a drizzle of balsamic glaze. Then add basil leaves, cherry tomato halves and a sprinkle of sea salt flakes to each toast.
