New Bake-at-Home Breads! #Who's Your Baker?

We’ve been having a blast with our latest Costco Roadshows in Tacoma and in Federal Way!  Our next stop will be  Issaquah Costco on Sept. 11th – 13th. We are sampling our latest varieties of Bake-at-Home breads to see which you like best! Our new varieties include Seeded Multi-Grain, Tuscan, Seeded French, and French.

What’s so amazing about this bread?

  • It’s organic/Non-GMO
  • All varieties have a small list of ingredients. Tuscan has only 3 (flour, salt, water)!
  • Unopened it lasts in your pantry for 5 months!
  • When you open it, you can bake it in your oven, on your grill, or slice what you need and toast in your toaster. You can put the remaining loaf in a zip top or paper bag in your fridge or freezer for later.
  • What you can do with it:
    • Bake it and eat it plain or with butter.
    • Cut it horizontally and make open faced pizza with it.
    • Make garlic bread with it.

We’re having a great time talking with you all who are coming by to see us. Check out some of the pictures we’ve taken so far. If you take your picture at our booth with your phone or camera, then take it to any of our Essential Baking Company Cafes to get your free loaf of bread!

Our next stop in our Costco Roadshow series will be in Issaquah on Sept. 11th – 13th. This may be your only chance to get these varieties of Bake-at-Home at Costco!

    Hi,
I tried your Tuscan bread when they had it at my Costco in sherman oaks, but I went recently and they no longer have it! Where else can I but bake at home Tuscan or french loaves? Or will Costco get it back?
    Thanks!

Hi Stefani, your Costco should get it back soon. You can try filling out a customer comment card specifically asking for it. We’re so glad to hear that you like it!

        Hi!
So I kept checking but it hasn’t come back! 🙁
It’s only at the farthest costcos from me, not the marina del Ray or van nuys. 🙁
However, is there any way I can order the Tuscan bread online, or can you only order sourdough and Rosemary online?

We’re so sorry for the wait. We aren’t sure of the exact timeline Costco has planned to get it back in stores. At the moment you can only get the Sourdough and Rosemary in our eStore, but I’ll talk to the folks in charge of on-line fulfillment and see what we can do. Thanks for writing in!

That’s great to hear that you love our Bake-at-Home bread, but not so good that you can’t find it now. Your Costco should be getting it back soon! Keep looking for it. It also doesn’t hurt to fill out a customer comment card if you’d like to see it there on a regular basis. Thanks for letting us know what you think!

I bought the 3 loaf package at Costco. Since I wasn’t sure when I would be using them I tossed them in the freezer. Do I need to allow it to thaw totally now before baking?

    Thanks,
    Gary

      Hi Gary,
You don’t need to thaw it. Just place bread directly on your oven rack, in a preheated oven and bake at the same temperature on the package, but you’ll need to bake it almost twice as long. Keep an eye on it.

I recently purchased your new bake at home French Loaf.
It Lists the 5 ingredients that is in it. I bought it because it does not list yeast as an ingredient,
as I am sensitive/allergic to yeast. Just double check to make sure that this is safe for me to eat.
I will be purchasing in bulk if it safe for me as yeast free bread is so hard to find.

    Looking forward to your response.
    Thank You

      Hi Teresa,
We don’t use commercial yeast, we use a starter that consists of flour and water that we allow to naturally ferment to achieve the rise and flavor of the bread. Many people who are sensitive to yeast are able to eat this bread since we don’t use any yeast and our loaves go through a long fermentation process. Some people with gluten sensitivity claim that they are able to tolerate this as well because of the long fermentation process reduces eats away at some of the gluten. Of course, we strongly recommend checking with your doctor to be sure this is safe for you to try.

      Hi Joe,
It really depends on your oven, or grill and how you like your bread baked. With that said, bake it to 8 minutes and check on it. I like I more at 15 minutes myself. I like to paint a little olive oil in top and sprinkle a little sea salt as well.

Love your bake at home sourdough… we’ve been buying it for about a year at the Costco in Salem, Oregon. Recently, they switched to the rosemary bread, and now we have neither.

There is nowhere on Costco’s site to ask questions, so I’ll ask you: Are you coming back to Costco in Oregon, and will you be selling the sourdough?

If not, do you have a schedule of roadshows so we can find one and stock up???

    Thanks!

    Nancy

      Hi Nancy,
Were sorry that you are having trouble finding our Bake-at-Home. The best thing to do is to fill out a customer comment card at your local Costco. Here’s a link to Costco’s online contact form
Were so glad you like our bread! I’ll look into if more is being ordered. They could be switching to our new Tuscan, which is amazing! Let us know if you see it there.
