We always start celebrating Mother’s Day early around here. The moms, grandmas and special women in our lives look forward to this time of year, when our talented artists begin creating our special Mom’s Hats. We don’t suggest wearing these creations, they are much more fun to eat. These adorable individual serving treats are made with a sugar cookie base that holds dark chocolate mousse surrounded by passionfruit mousse, all covered with a velvety chocolate finish, a marzipan ribbon and chocolate flower garnish.
Of course, the Mom’s Hat is a great addition to Mother’s Day celebrations, but we also like it for springtime luncheons and tea parties. The good news is that you don’t have to wait for Mother’s Day to give one a try. Our Mom’s Hat is available now through May 29th in our cafes and at Town & Country/Central Markets, Metropolitan Markets and PCC Natural Markets. Make sure you have this adorable bonnet for your mom by calling one of our cafes. Please allow 72 hours advance notice for special orders.
Hard to find a Mom’s Hat. PCC Greenlake does not stock ‘em. Your Wallingford location thought you stopped making them after Easter. PCC Edmonds thought they would come in closer to Mom’s Day.

We are so sorry to hear you had trouble finding a Mom’s Hat. We’ve been producing them at our bakery since March 28th, and they will be available through May 29. You can special order Mom’s Hats by calling any of our cafes. Most Bakery Managers at the grocery stores mentioned should also be able to special order them for you. We recommend 72 hours notice before your desired pick up. Many of the stores may wait until the beginning of May, closer to Mother’s Day, to really start carrying them regularly. They are available now.

Yes, I did receive your generous offer. How terribly rude of me to ignore your kind and thoughtful response, I apologize. At the time I was thinking that you did exactly what I would have done if I were in your shoes: apologize profusely, empathize with the customer and offer free product. I did not retrieve the complimentary Mom’s Hats in Fremont/Wallyhood since I don’t often make it back to Seattle from Mountlake Terrace. I would like to take you up on your offer, though. How late in the Spring season will you make the Mom’s Hats?

No problem. I just spoke with the manager at our Wallingford cafe who confirmed that the two Mom’s Hats are still set aside for you, with your name on them. We only make them until May 29th, producing less after Mother’s Day. If you would like to order more, simply call the cafe, allowing 72 hours before you plan to pick them up. They freeze well too. We hope you enjoy them!
